Elvis Costello - My Aim Is True and This Year's Model

Elvis Costello, in all his angry, nerdy and literate glory may not look like much, but he's probably one of the most talented songwriters who ever lived.

These two are from his earlier days. They are both phenomenal works of in the pub rock/punk vein. I prefer This Year's Model but they're both so good you'll want them both

Alison is one of the most gorgeous and superbly written (from a lyrical perspective especially) songs ever.

My Aim Is True
This Year's Model

Archers of Loaf - Icky Mettle

One of the lesser heralded indie rock records of the 90s, but absolutely essential. You'll never know how catchy fuzz can be until you hear this.

Plus they're called Archers of Loaf.

Fuckyeah.

Titus Andronicus - The Monitor

Just in case you haven't heard.
Prepare to be simultaneously ruined and then taken out for a couple beers. Loser. :]

Love - Forever Changes

One of the best albums of the 60s and an album everyone should listen to. It's a beautiful compendium of stellar psychadelic pop with the addition of elements such as brass and strings. If you like the Beatles (which you should) listen the fuck out of this.
