Just Some Writings
been pretty fucking depressed lately so I've been writing some really gay things hope you enjoy or not. Here's 3 of them.
in the tunnel
we made statues
for all the people not old enough to drive
to view out of their windows
and we counted
how many smiles we caught
put them in our memories
and then burned the tunnel
if I get wrapped up in actions
I forget that I'm alone
birds long gone
and I fed them everyday
and I bathed their broken skies
and I left a trail of trust in the back yard
sometimes you can't stop nature
lacerating violets
I'm black and white
her daughter kidnapped
and I can see why
her jumprope games
caught the attention of the heat
we died on those steps
tunnels
in the tunnel
we made statues
for all the people not old enough to drive
to view out of their windows
and we counted
how many smiles we caught
put them in our memories
and then burned the tunnel
---
nature
if I get wrapped up in actions
I forget that I'm alone
birds long gone
and I fed them everyday
and I bathed their broken skies
and I left a trail of trust in the back yard
sometimes you can't stop nature

kidnapped
lacerating violets
I'm black and white
her daughter kidnapped
and I can see why
her jumprope games
caught the attention of the heat
we died on those steps

Marvin Gaye - What's Going On
One of those albums whose reputation has grown so wildly over the years, but nonetheless, there is a reason why so many people argue over whether or not it is the greatest soul album of all time.

New Lil Wayne Track
Lil' Wayne has released the first single off his highly anticipated Tha Carter IV LP called "6 foot 7 foot". You can check it out over there on the right.
The song's produced by Bangladesh, the man responsible for the crazy stream-of-consciousness assault that was "A Milli." It shows, too. It features a guest spot in the form of Cory Gunz who holds his own, but the real star is Wayne, who spits two fantastic verses of cleverly worded braggadocio in his crazy flow.
You want to hear this, trust me.

Baphomet/Banished
Baphomet were a death metal band from Buffalo, back in the late 80's - early 90's. In 1992 they released this awesome album, The Dead Shall Inherit, but shortly thereafter changed their name because some other faggy band called Baphomet whinged. So then they became Banished...
...and released another awesome album: Deliver Me Unto Pain.
Enjoy.
Uyama Hiroto - A Son of the Sun
25% Hip Hop
75% Jazz
Still 100% Awesome
This is a lot like Nujabes (RIP Jun Seba), but a lot more instrumentals and easy listening feel-goodness.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds - Tender Prey
Seminal post punk release from one of the best bands ever to come out of Australia. If you haven't heard this then your musical education is severely lacking.

Logs - Hogz
Features one of the guys from Kidcrash, though they aren't too similar; Logs are much less mathy and have a grittier sound. Good stuff for sure, official release will be beginning of 2011 through Denovali.

Enabler - Eden Sank to Grief
Excellently awesome hardcore. Sounds a bit like a slightly less sludgy Cursed mixed with some grind and a pretty melodic edge. I mean, I guess I could provide a simile or metaphor equating this to getting physically injured, like punched with a fist or kicked with a foot, or whatever, but I mean, just fucking get it

Snowing - I Could Do Whatever I Wanted If I Wanted
I Could Do Whatever I Want If I Wanted is Snowing's debut Full Length, a sprawling LP filled with a plethora of personal lyrics, drunken sing-a-longs, and noodly riffs. While not as compact as their earlier demos, Snowing's new LP is an enjoyable album and certainly a contender for end-of-the-year lists.

Hey there ladies and gents
Hey guys. I thought of a few ways to say hi, then I decided on a simple one: a story.
Here's a tale for all of you who have ever been in reach of a wonderful girl only to realize she's cut off your hands.
If you don't give a shit, feel free to skip to the bottom for good music.
Me and this girl have been friends for about 2 years. We've always gotten along great, but for no real good reason, we hadn't maintained very good contact. I'd met her through a mutual friend who once helped me out of a tight spot (physically, booya), and at the time this girl (the first one) had a longstanding failing relationship with a guy. This girl is perfect, just perfect. I mean, just think of the exact girl you'd always want to be with: this is her, for me.
I hung out with her a few times about a year-ish later, when she was just out of aforementioned relationship and was starting to see a new guy. I don't know if you guys know the feeling, but man, this girl just made being myself so easy.
Regardless, we fall out of contact again. She gets in another failing (though not violently bad) relationship with the new guy. A year passes. We start talking again. We make spur of the moment plans to hang out, and end up spending the entire night together. This was after a conversation where I confessed I liked her quite a bit and she said the tired song about 'well, I don't know if I feel that way about you'. She admitted, however, that her opinions might have been biased based on the fact that, when she met with me previously, she was already in a relationship.
To cut it short, the night went perfectly. We ended up at her place, watching one of my favorite movies (Memento, watch it immediately), and, with her permission (this is key), we kissed. I thought things went great, though of course, I sensed things maybe didn't go as well as they could have.
The next day, I got perhaps the most insultingly unsatisfying rejection text (yes, a TEXT) on my phone. Friend zoned. Now, man, the weird fucking thing about this is she even admits being attractive to me. I don't get it. What fucking more could there even be? What do you do when you're so close to what you want and it's still so far away?
So, I said to myself...
I guess... fuck bitches; get money.
Here's an album I've been digging for awhile. Good ass trip hop. Beautiful vocals, good beats. Some nice jazz influences. Mostly instrumental, but the songs that aren't are eerily good. Maybe it's been posted before. Whatever. If it has, Dom will yell at me and I'll fix it. Night ya'll
Blue Sky Black Death: Late Night Cinema
Jon Mueller - The Whole
Extremely talented percussionist who has worked with acts such as Volcano Choir, Bon Iver, Pele and Collections of Colonies of Bees. He's also an incredibly prolific solo performer. His early work consisted of percussive improvisations around a very loose framework and accompanied by his voice. He had started to deviate from this method of creation before this release, his music born less of improvisation and more of structured, minimalist composition.
In this release Mueller layers different vocal tracks upon one another and includes the sound of a dulcimer and cymbals on top of his drums: a snare and set of toms. His sense of rhythm is extremely impressive and the atmosphere he creates with this meager array of instruments amazes. Not to be missed.

If you thought How To Dress Well's Love Remains was the coolest thing since sliced Burial, then you ought to give these two EPs from James Blake a listen. Expect a full length early 2011.
